Mabuhay, friends!
Because of how down I’ve been feeling I decided to take the plunge and invest myself in a romance book. I ended up binge reading Tessa Dare’s Romancing The Duke! It was so refreshing and fun to read. It’s been so long since I’ve read something light and fluffy that reading this felt like slamming my face in to a delicious cake. So, rather than talking about my top romances I want to share some romance books that I’m eager to read!
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly mem created by the Bionic Bookworm Blog.
Castles Ever After series by Tessa Dare
I enjoyed reading Romancing The Duke last month! It was my first Tessa Dare novel and the first regency romance I read in a very long while! Say Yes To The Marquess is the second book in the Castles Ever After series about Clio Whitmore who is done waiting on her eight year engagement and decides to claim her independence. But wait! Her fiance’s brother is convinced that she NEEDS to marry his brother, although I’m not sure why she has to. This book has caught my attention!
Lady’s Guide To Celestial Mechanics by Olivia Waite
This book was brought to my attention by Kate from Your Tita Kate’s raving on Twitter. Firstly, this book tackles the issues faced by women scientists in history. To be honest, I haven’t read any historical romance with that premise nor have I ever read a historical romance featuring romance between two women! I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot with this one!

The Flastshare by Beth O’Leary
So, like a strangers to lovers kind of story? I love the premise of the characters sharing everything expect their time together! This book interests me not only because it sounds adorable but also piques my writer’s side! How does the author write the romance???
An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole
I’ve seen Alyssa Cole been recommended so many times! I know many have enjoyed their Reluctant Royals series but I found myself more drawn to The Loyal League! I am not sure what to expect with their books but I already have a feeling that I’m going to love it! An Extraordinary Union is set during the Civil War and follows two undercover agents who risk their lives to help the Union Army.

I enjoyed An Extraordinary Union. I’d like to read the sequels at some point (though from what I understand they’re focused on different characters at the same period)

A lot of people rave about Tessa Dare’s books. Might have to pick one up haha. The last romance book I read was The Kiss Quotient and it was gorgeous.

I’ve mainly been reading romance during isolation. Besides for the fact that I just love romance in general, there’s something so nice about knowing that a story is going to end with a happily ever after. I think at the moment my favorite romance author is Lorraine Heath, just because of how many of her romances I’ve really enjoyed.
And it’d funny that you mention the writing in The Flatshare, because that book had one of the most distinctive differences in character POVs that I’ve ever read! You definitely won’t be mixing up which character is narrating in that book! I hope you enjoy it, although I will mention that it deals with some tough topics, so it’s not all light and fluffy like many romances are.

I really liked An Extraordinary Union, although Cole’s Reluctant Royals is a much bigger favorite of mine, so I hope you’ll get to that, as well. 😀 I’m happy you enjoyed Romancing the Duke, and I hope you’ll love Say Yes To the Marques, it’s a good one, too. The third is even better, and the fourth – which fits into this and another series by Dare – is probably my favorite. 😀

I’ve heard a lot of about Alyssa Cole. Of the romance books that I’m most excited to read, I still haven’t read The Kiss Quotient which looks to be the most fun and with a fresh premise. But I totally agree that romance books are just more appealing now!
