Just so you know, I don’t really remember when I began blogging. It feels like I’m stuck somewhere in between a rookie and an elf. But between the fumbling and the tears, I believe I’ve done alright for myself as an amateur blogger. I’ve achieved blogging goals that I used to think was impossible for me, for example, I’ve been chosen for blog tours, I’ve worked closely with indie authors, and I’ve had the opportunity to obtain physical ARCs.
With that said, today I want to talk about the different resources that have helped me a lot with my blogging. The Top Ten Tuesday prompt was a thankful freebie, so I chose to promote some wonderful people whose work have greatly influenced my own work as a blogger!

The Year of the Asian Reading Challenge
This is a year-long reading challenge hosted by CW from The Quiet Pond, Lily from Sprinkles of Dreams, Shealea from Shut Up, Shealea, and Vicky from Vicky Who Reads.
I love the hard-work the bloggers put into hosting this reading challenge as well as consistently promoting books from Asian authors. Through this challenge, I was introduced to many midlist and debut reads. The prompts for YARC 2019 include folklore and fairytales, mental illness awareness, and pride. The challenge is not for an exclusive genre, so there really is no reason not to take part!
88 Cups of Tea Podcast
One of my favourite discoveries of the year is the 88 Cups of Tea podcast which is hosted by Yin Chang. The interviews conducted have been full of insight; Yin Chang’s voice is not only genuine but also perceptive. I always come away from the episodes with a new perspective on writing. Just listening to Yin Chang and her interviews make me feel happy and light.

The Reader Voracious’ Spreadsheet
I’m glad to be one of the people who can call Kaleena my friend. Her blog is a treasure trove for science fiction and fantasy readers! Besides her reviews, she also provides detailed resources on how to organize your blogging which has saved me time and has helped my schedule more efficient. You should look into Kaleena’s 2019 Book Blogger Spreadsheet which I am currently using.
Books and Boba Podcast
Another podcast I love keeping up with is Books and Boba which is hosted by Marvin Yueh and Reera Yoo. Every month the hosts pick an Asian or Asian American book to read for their book club which they then discuss on the podcast. Not only that but they also provide the latest publishing news to listeners. I love listening to their thoughts on books of varied experiences because it shows that no two Asian or Asian American experiences are the same.
