Mabuhay! We are blessed by the Bibliophile Lord!
As we are in the middle of 2019, it is time to topple your bookshelves with even more glorious upcoming releases! Okay, I’m kidding. I don’t literally wish your bookshelf would topple. So, because I am kind of heart *cough cough* today I am listing books which I KNOW for a fact I will be reading. There are books I already have an e-ARC of or have pre-ordered. Honestly, if I could this post would just be me screaming and shoving these books into your bags.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
And Shall Machines Surrender by Benjanun Sriduangkaew (July 11)
I don’t read much SciFi, to be honest, but Surrender just called out to me. It’s set in a world where humans dream of being chosen as hosts for a new set of Artificial Intelligence. According to the blurb, by doing so these humans are worshipped as gods. WHAT? Is this a mix of SciFi and mythology? I need to know!
The Black Veins by Ashia Monet (July 17)
I AM A SUCKER FOR FOUND FAMILY TROPE! Not to mention that this book features magicians on a road trip. That just sounds like a lot of trouble, if you ask me! I was lucky enough to get a review copy of this book, so I added it to my Summer Indie Reading Challenge.

The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang (August 6)
I loved The Poppy War so much I could punch some one! To say that R.F. Kuang is #authorgoals would be an understatement. I actually stayed away from requesting an e-ARC of this because the rejection would physically hurt me. Instead, I decided to pre-order a copy so I can read it without pressure.

Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir (September 10)
I have Melanie from Mel to the Any to thank for this! I love necromancers, and I love Tor publishing. But I love Melanie even more! So when she recommended this book on her channel I had to take a chance. The blurb of this book just touched on everything I would love to read about – a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian necromancers. Yes, sir.
The Thunderbird Queen by Jordan Rivet (September 20)
The cover for The Thunderbird Queen hasn’t been revealed yet but if it’s anything like The Watermight Thief, spoilers: it’s going to be awesome! The Watermight Thief is about a young, scrappy thief, and an adventurous princess set in a world of elemental magic.

The Never Tilting World by Rin Chupeco (October 15)
Oh, how I love Rin Chupeco! I don’t need any other reason to pick up her books. ANY book she releases, I will buy it. It doesn’t help that this book was marketed as crossover between Frozen and Mad Max! I am way more than ready to meet the twin goddesses.

Gravemaidens by Kelly Coon (October 29)
Another beautiful book I am lucky to have an e-ARC of! This book is about two sisters – one of whom is chosen to join their ruler in the afterlife. I love books that focus on sibling relationships, plus the slightly dark tone of this book caught my interest!
A Thousand Fires by Shannon Price (November 5, 2019)
Oooooh another Filipino author! A retelling of The Illiad set in an alternate San Francisco. Vengeance, love, and loyalty! Who could resist that?
Are any of these books on your TBR?
Which one would you pick up?
Which book are you looking forward to?
The synopsis for And Shall Machines Surrender sounds really weird, but also unique? I’m definitely going to check the book out!

SO excited for these but SUPER DUPER excited for The Dragon Republic. I’m doing a blog tour for it and I’M SO WEAK IN THE KNEES EXCITED AND FLUSTERED, I MAY FAINT. Swoon. (My word of the day is swoon, apparently, as I’ve said it about 100 times now.) Anyways, I HOPE YOU ENJOY ALL OF THESE BEAUTIES AND YOUR BOOKSHELF DOES NOT TOPPLE OVER. If mine does, it’s fine, it’s cool, we’ll rebuild.

The Dragon Republic is also on my anticipated reads list 🙂
I totally understand how hard it can be to request a book you’re looking forward because of the fear of rejection!
