This is my first post for the STATE OF THE ARC meme by AvalinahsBooks. I especially love the monthly themes that the #ARCsAnonymous group provides because it helps me motivate me pick off my ARCs one by one rather than waiting for the mood to strike!

The theme for December was Fantasy; I was soooooo glad for this because the Fantasy genre was my outweighed every other genre. I had initially picked ten books to read and review but had only managed to get to five books with one DNF.

The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli Fairy Ring by Jacque Stevens Clockwork Dynasty by Daniel H Wilson

I enjoyed these four books with The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden being my absolute favourite! I also read…

Witch Song by Amber Argyle  Fallen Empire by K.N. Lee

But, uh, these books were sorely disappointing. I think it’s going to take me a while to get over my frustration!

So, with those books down, I have 40 books still left on my NetGalley ARCs pile. It’s intimidating but being a part of supportive group has made me feel more organized while also making the task less daunting.

Have you been having problems tackling your ARC pile? Are you on ARC ban because of this? What are some 2018 reads you’re looking forward to?

      1. I reached that many when I just signed up for NetGalley and didn’t know how it worked at all :/ I was like HEY FREE BOOKS… later on I learned what it means and was like UH OH xD I have no trouble keeping up with the new ones, but the old ones… they’re the problem 🙂

      1. I went from six to four and I’m sooo proud right now, haha. Now I just have to write the actual reviews so I can really tick them off. 😀
[And try not to go on a requesting-spree again since that’s ridiculously tempting every time I open NetGalley..]

  1. I don’t think I will ever be on an ARC ban. I just don’t have the self control for that. Lol! I like The Girl in the Tower, as well. Too bad about the disappointing books, but not every book can be awesome. Good luck getting your numbers down. I have faith in you!

  2. I always hate it when I DNF a book but I am getting better at not sticking with a book I am not enjoying. Good luck lowering your NetGalley stack. Happy reading!
